In 2014, the Radical Innovation Award seeks ideas that will have near-term, positive impact on hospitality. Enter your implementable, creative hotel solution for a chance to meet the investment community and incubate your idea with our jury of hotel insiders.
What is Radical? A competition for professionals and students to create a new strategy that solves hotel industry problems and creates new opportunities for guests and investors. All entries are judged based on concept, design, creativity and potential impact on the industry. Finalists will be invited to Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas in May 2014 to defend their ideas in front of our hotel investors and executives.
Concept (built or unbuilt) must be truly innovative and offer the market something that is not currently available widely, or does not yet exist.
Concept must include guestrooms/suites and lobby/public areas. Including food and beverage facilities and other amenities is optional, but recommended. Concept may be branded or unbranded. All hospitality project types are eligible, but must provide an experience not yet available in its category.Entries must follow submission requirements, using entry form provided. A $100 entry fee is required for each entry; no entry fee for students. Multiple entries by a single entrant (or company) are permitted.There are no restrictions on project size. Must be able to provide a notarized disclosure form and certification of project originality and authenticity, if your entry makes it to the final four or the Special Judges Award.

Cash awards are presented for first, second and third prizes, and the judges’ special award for students. Finalists and one student winner have their project entries showcased on display boards at Hospitality Design Exposition + Conference in Las Vegas. The top two finalists receive round-trip air travel and hotel accommodation in Las Vegas to present their entry to the HD Conference audience. The HD Conference audience votes to determine the grand prize award winner. In addition, winners and finalists are featured in Hospitality Design magazine, on www.hospitalitydesign.com, and in HD Expo Show Daily. A jury of industry development experts narrows the entries prior to the live vote, and bestows honorable mentions and student awards.
